We Can Learn a Lot From Each Other

When we started building Senior Care Circuit, we knew we wanted it to be a place where families could find information, resources, services and providers as they navigate the aging journey. But we also kept thinking about the people on the other side of that experience. The professionals.

We spend a lot of time talking about how important connections are in senior care, and for good reason. This is an industry built around people. But somewhere along the way, networking can start to feel a little predictable. We go to an event, grab a cup of coffee, say hello to people we already know, meet a few new people, exchange information and promise to stay in touch.

Then life happens.

The business card ends up in a drawer, the email gets buried somewhere between 147 other emails and suddenly six months have passed.

We wanted Senior Care Circuit to give us another way to stay connected.

The professional side of Senior Care Circuit is our inner circle. It is part of the larger Senior Care Circuit platform, but this space is specifically for the professionals who make this industry what it is.

It is a place to explore, connect, learn and hopefully discover a few people and opportunities you may not have come across otherwise.

We All Know Something Someone Else Does Not

One of the best things about working in senior care is how much knowledge exists within this community.

No one knows everything, even though we have probably all met at least one person who thinks they do.

The reality is that every one of us comes to the table with different experiences. Someone in home care understands a completely different part of the aging journey than someone in assisted living. Someone working in hospice sees things differently than an elder law attorney, a moving professional or someone working in rehabilitation.

When we actually talk to each other, we start connecting those pieces.

There is tremendous value in simply being curious about what other people do. Ask questions. Read what someone else has written. Learn about a service you have never really understood. Find out what another organization is doing differently.

You never know when that information will become useful.

That is one of the reasons we included a professional blog within Senior Care Circuit. We did not want it to be a place filled with articles just for the sake of saying we have a blog. We want professionals to share things that other professionals actually want to read.

We want to hear about experiences, ideas, lessons, industry knowledge and different perspectives. We want the kind of content that makes you stop for a minute and think, “I never knew that.”

That is how we learn from each other.

Sometimes You Just Need to Know Who Does What

We also created a B2B Directory because we cannot possibly be the only people who have thought, “I know I met someone who does this. What was their name again?”

Senior care organizations need other businesses too. We need photographers, printers, landscapers, power washers, placement agencies and countless other services that help our organizations operate and grow.

The B2B Directory gives professionals an opportunity to explore businesses that serve the professional community and discover companies they may want to connect with.

It is not complicated, and it is not supposed to be. Sometimes you simply need to find the right person.

Careers Are Part of the Conversation Too

People move around in this industry. Organizations grow. New positions open. Someone is ready for their next opportunity. Someone else is desperately trying to fill a position and wondering where all the good candidates went.

So, of course, we needed a Career Hub.

The Career Hub gives our professional community another place to explore opportunities within senior care. It allows organizations to share available positions while giving professionals the chance to see what might be out there.

Even when you are not looking for a new position, it can be interesting to see how organizations are growing and what kinds of roles are emerging throughout the industry.

And if you are looking, maybe your next opportunity is closer than you think.

The Point Is to Explore

One of the words we keep coming back to with Senior Care Circuit is “explore.”

We do not want people to log in, look at one page and disappear for six months.

Take a look around.

Read an article written by someone you have never met. Explore the B2B Directory and learn about a business you did not know existed. Check out the Career Hub. Look at upcoming professional events. See who else is part of the Senior Care Circuit community. And then connect. Send someone a message. Introduce yourself. Ask a question. Start a conversation.

It does not have to begin with, “How can we do business together?” Actually, we hope it does not. Some of the best professional relationships begin with a simple conversation and absolutely no idea where it will lead.

There Is Plenty of Room for All of Us

Yes, some of us are competitors. We know. We said it.

But being in the same industry does not mean we cannot talk to each other, learn from each other or even help each other.

There is plenty of room to build your own business while still being part of a larger professional community.

We believe we become better at what we do when we understand more than our own little corner of the industry. When we know the people around us, understand what they do and take the time to build actual relationships, we create a stronger community.

That does not mean sharing your secret sauce with everyone. You can keep the recipe. It simply means recognizing that there is value in knowing the people who are walking through this industry alongside you.

This Is Our Inner Circle

The public side of Senior Care Circuit is about making the aging journey easier to explore. Families can discover information, resources, services and providers as their needs change.

Our professional inner circle is about the people behind all of that. It is where we can continue the conversation.

It is where we can learn from each other through the professional blog, discover businesses through the B2B Directory, explore opportunities through the Career Hub and connect with professionals throughout the Senior Care Circuit community.

And we are just getting started.

We want this part of Senior Care Circuit to grow because the people inside of it are what make it valuable. The technology gives us a place to gather, but the conversations, ideas, relationships and opportunities are what will make it a community.
